Make Waves for Ducklings 2008

Frequently Asked Questions

As initially posted, these questions are not really frequently asked, they are the questions we think are likely frequently asked. Your additional questions should be sent to BostonUncommons@yahoo.com .

1. When is early registration available ?

Now. We announced our first caller well before we were ready to do the rest of the work, but now we are in business.

2. Will there be Mainstream dancing at Make Waves for Ducklings 2008 ?

Yes! Boston Uncommons is a Mainstream club, although we have many members who also dance other programs. We are committed to entertaining our Mainstream dancers.

3. What other programs will we dance?  ?

Beyond Mainstream we will certainly have Plus, A2 and C1 dancing. For A1 and other Challenge programs defined by Callerlab, and even for Challenge programs which Callerlab has not yet standardized, we will schedule time for any program for which eight or more dancers are preregistered.

4. Where is Medford ?

Medford is a suburb just north of Boston that happens to have a fabulous dance facility called Springstep. Those who attended Make Waves for Ducklings 2006 will testify about the quality of the facility.

5. How do I find a roommate for the hotel ?

We suggest you use the LGCWSD mailing list on all8.com. If you are not a subscriber, direct your web browser to http://all8.com/mailman/listinfo/lgcwsd_all8.com .

6. Why should I bother with early registration ?

If you dance some particular program beyond Mainstream (Plus, A2, whatever) and want to be sure it is well represented in our schedule, early registration lets us know. Please register for the highest program you expect to dance by September 2008. Early registration also gives you the cheapest registration price, but if money is no object we are happy to let you pay full price even though you register early !

7. How can I pay in US funds from a foreign country ?

We expect most of our guests to be from the US, but we understand the currency conversion problems for others. Those from outside the US who need to make special arrangements to send your dance fee should contact us by sending email to BostonUncommons@yahoo.com .
