Barb Kirchner

Barb Kirchner Barb Kirchner was introduced to contra dancing and quilting, by the same person, in 1990 as a graduate student in Iowa, and has been involved in both those activities for almost 20 years. One of those people who can't say "no", Barb first became involved in running the Iowa City dance when asked to sit at the door and take money. Since that time she has been involved in every aspect of running dances and dance camps - including calling, playing, cooking, cleaning, and scheduling, and has started two dance series which are still active. Barb's goal at every event is to have a great time, and to make sure that everybody else does, too. Always trying different things, Barb enjoys when the dancers figure out how to make things even more fun than expected!
