*** Downeast Friends of the Folk Arts – Northeast US
The DEFFA Newsletter is the publication of the Downeast Friends of the Folk arts. It is a schedule of folk music and dance events, predominantly in the State of Maine and coastal New Hampshire. These events include concerts, contradances, international folk dance, jam sessions, music swaps, and festivals.

Publishers of the Folk Dance Directory since 1970, they now have a large database of dance clubs and dance events. Coverage includes the United States of America and Canada.

We are an organization of openly gay singers, instrumentalists, songwriters, performers and dancers (and our supporters) who write, perform, sing or enjoy country music. LGCMA was formed in 1998 to organize and direct efforts to enlighten the mainstream culture by promoting and supporting openly Lesbian and Gay country performers. We also work to educate our own LGBT culture about the diversity in our own communities by presenting and promoting country culture/country music based events for gays and lesbians.
