This year's camp will be in a new venue, the beautiful Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, MA. Pinewoods has been a home for folk dancing for over a century, and boasts open-air dance pavilions, comfortable rustic cabins and houses, two clear-water lakes for swimming and boating, a dining hall with views over the water, and a cozy camphouse for gatherings. For more information about Pinewoods Camp, click here.
All dancing at LCFD camps is gender free, with no gendered terms used in teaching and calling. The strength of our community is in its diversity, and people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and levels of dance experience are encouraged to come and bring their whole selves to the event. If you have any questions, please write to the Camp Registrar, Ben Sachs-Hamilton, at camp@lcfd.org. |
The LCFD Camp Committee does everything we can to keep the cost to attend as low as possible. This year, we expect it will cost us about $250 per person to make camp run (a significant decrease from our last camp). In the interest of accessibility, we have adopted a sliding scale based on campers' ability to pay.
LCFD is also partnering with Pinewoods Camp to offer a limited number of full scholarships to young campers new to Pinewoods, BIPOC campers, and campers with significant financial need (read more here). Please consider carefully how much you are able to contribute so that we can make camp accessible to everyone who wants to attend (this article might help). If none of the listed levels feels appropriate to you, feel free to select "Other" and note how much you are able to pay. Please reach out to the Registrar with any questions or concerns. |
